CLINICAL COMPLIANCE CONSULTANT
Carol applies her extensive clinical and regulatory compliance experience in post-acute and long-term care by providing clients with guidance in compliance and risk management. She utilizes her expertise by assisting clients in utilization, development, implementation and integration of clinical and operational management systems to achieve compliance with state and federal requirements.
Prior to joining Compliagent, Carol held positions as a Director of Nursing and a Regional Clinical Director for over 26 years. She developed care programs, and policies and procedures, including development of electronic clinical assessment tools for a multi-facility chain of skilled nursing facilities. She is a passionate educator, loves to teach and provide training from the facility line staff to executive level management positions for areas of regulatory and compliance needs.
In her time with Compliagent, Carol has focused her efforts on helping clients meet their obligations under Corporate Integrity Agreements by serving as the clinical auditor for Independent Review Organization (IRO) engagements and improving clinical documentation to support payments under Medicare Part A and and Medicare Part B through the provision of routine auditing services for large skilled nursing facility chains. Carol is also part of Compliagent’s mock survey team and has served as a nurse consultant for independent skilled nursing facilities and small skilled nursing facility chains to ensure that they are always survey ready by providing routine quality assurance visits.
Carol is a Registered Nurse and is Wound Care Certified, Resident Assessment Coordinator Certified (RAC-CT), and obtained a certificate from the Centers for Disease Control for Nursing Home Infection Preventionist training. She also serves as a Senior Examiner Team Leader for AHCA/NCAL Silver Quality Awards and is an active committee member of the California Association of Health Facilities (CAHF) Regulatory subcommittee and is currently serving as the Vice-Chair for the Quality Improvement subcommittee.
Carol enjoys spending time at home with her two kids and two dogs. She also loves shopping, watching science fiction movies and travelling with family.
